Place the corned beef, potatoes, & carrots into a large crockpot with bay leaf, clove, mustard, & garlic. Include seasoning packet if corned beef comes with one.
Pour in the can of beer & top off with water.
Cook on high for 5-6 hours, adding water if necessary.
30 minutes before you are ready to serve, cook chopped cabbage, onion, salt & pepper, butter, & olive oil in a pan on medium-high heat until cabbage is soft.
