Round 2 of 21 Day Fix: Real Talk.

When I first wrote this entry, it was looong. I didn’t like it, so this one I will be keeping short, but informative (hopefully).
This post is dedicated to honesty on my successes and shames of Round 2 of 21 Day Fix.
Week one went amazing! I had my fridge and pantry stocked, I had my meals prepped, & I followed through with my exercises.
Week two of 21 Day Fix started off not so smoothly. For various reasons and excuses, the household budget for the week was around $20. I was worried we wouldn’t have enough money for gas to get us to and from work for the week, so obviously I did not stock up on groceries.
Thankfully, I still had healthy items in stock in my freezer and pantry. But there was no fresh fruit and veggies. I was able to invent meals that were mostly healthy, filling, and enough for lunch and dinner. But I allowed my mood (aka pity party of one because I was broke) to interfere with my energy and motivation for exercise. I did a few, but my heart was not really in it.
I tried to stay positive and on track; I did the best I could. But I really do look back now and hate that I let myself stop exercising!
Week three was better. I was able to get some fresh fruits and veggies and more lean meats. I was able to include snacks back into my meal plan (thank the Lord!). I stayed active at work, but I will be honest, I got lazy when I got home. I did not do a single exercise in week three. I do NOT recommend it!
Some things I learned from this round:
- Even when things aren’t ‘perfect’, keep trying!
- Don’t give up – especially when you make a bad choice, just keep going!
- I need exercise in my life. I can feel the difference in my body from basically two weeks of no workouts.
My Results (Sorry no pictures this time!)
- I lost three pounds
- I lost 2.5 inches
The positive is that I still lost because, even though I was ‘bad’, I still made healthier choices than usual. The negative is, I don’t feel like I lost anything. I feel squishy – if that makes sense. haha!
I am my own worst critic at everything I do; Something I have been constantly working on my entire life. It is very hard for me to let a mistake go, however, I can tell you that for all of round 2 of 21 Day Fix I tried my best to keep going. I never completely gave up. I may not have exercised as much as I should have, but I made the best choices I could when it came to my meals.
I will take my experience from this round and use it help me through my third round. I will be starting it Monday, January 11, 2016.
Happy Holidays!
