Skincare. That ish is important!
For a variety of reasons, we all want and need to take care of our skin. It’s good for our health and keeps us looking amazing as we age. So, with that said, I start off the first of my series in The Lazy Girl’s Guide: Skincare.
If you want to take care of your skin, but also don’t want to spend a lot of money on products or a ton of time applying all those products, this guide is for you.
*I am not a dermatologist, etc. This is only what I do and use for myself. If you have serious skin or skincare issues or questions, please talk to your doctor!*
Facewash:
Goodal Phytowash – This is hands down the BEST everyday facial cleanser I have ever used. It gets your face squeaky clean without drying it out or irritating it. It only takes a pea-sized amount to get a rich lather to wash your face with; so more bang for your buck!
St. Ives Apricot Scrub and St. Ives Even & Bright Scrub – These are my two go-to exfoliating scrubs. I use the Even & Bright scrub almost everyday and switch it out with the Apricot once or twice a week. Yes, I exfoliate everyday. I have oily skin with large pores; it is necessary!
Lotions & Creams:
Olay Complete Lotion – This all day moisturizer has SPF 15 in it and I use it everyday. Whether I put on makeup or not, this is going to be on my face. I am a big believer in SPF, so this bad boy does double duty by protecting me from the harmful rays of the sun and keeping my face moisturized! (I personally use the generic version of this product)
Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener and Balance Cream – Okay, so I have a slight obsession with Korean beauty products, but I am okay with that! These two products I use to help reduce my large pores, but they are also moisturizers, cleansers, and help balance out the skin. I try to use them everyday, but if I am in a hurry to put on makeup I will leave them out. They absorb well into the skin and smell great!
Mizon Snail Repair Ampoule – This is for fighting wrinkles! Currently, mine are not that bad, but I’m a firm believer in prevention! Also, yes, you read that right; it is mostly snail secretion. Besides that weird fact, this stuff is amazing. I started using this daily not too long ago. I noticed my under eye area’s wrinkles were starting to deepen and I began to see a line in my forehead appear. Since starting this serum, the forehead line/wrinkle is gone & my under eyes are looking noticeably smaller. I mostly use it at night, but if I am feeling especially conscientious, I’ll put a layer on before my moisturizer.
L’Oreal Dermo-Expertise Eye Cream – Yet another wrinkle fighter in my arsenal! This is strictly for the eye area, which for me needs all the help it can get. I use it nightly to give my under eye area some much needed extra moisture. It helps with puffiness and dark coloring too so on those especially crappy mornings, I’ll dab some on under my eyes to help look more awake. (I personally use the generic version of this product)
Extras:
Aria Starr Dead Sea Mud Mask – I love a good mask for those days or nights I really want to feel like I am pampering myself. If I feel like my skin is looking a little BLAH, I use this mask to give it a little bit of extra care. This mask is moisturizing, exfoliating, & helps reduce pore size, too! Don’t you love a good all-in-one product?
Facial Sheet Masks – Give me almost any facial sheet mask & I will be happy. I try to use these weekly, but let’s be honest, being a lazy girl that does not always happen. There are some sheet masks I prefer over others just because of how they are cut, but the ones in the link are some of my faves. Just put one of these on and let your skin just suck up the moisture! My face always feels so glorious after using one. Also, make sure to use as much of the serum in the package as possible – I’ll even put it on my neck or elbows for extra hydration.
Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur – This is another product to help minimize pores and has SPF! I’ll use it as a primer for under makeup or use it on it’s own. It also helps to brighten your skin & is a lightweight product. I love it.
Other Tips & Tricks:
- Hydrate from the inside by drinking LOTS of water everyday! This not only helps your skin, but your entire body!
- When you’re going to be out in the sun for an extended period of time (beach, boat, etc.) wear SPF of at least 50, a hat, & sunglasses!
- Take off your makeup at night! I use facial makeup remover wipes because it takes a few swipes to get it off.
And that is it for the products I use for skincare! As you can see I love products that do more than one thing and are budget-friendly (also, Korean!). Let me know in the comments below if any of the above are your faves!
