Boat Food: Finding the perfect balance of delicious, healthy-ish, filling, & easy-to-make foods that are also easily kept in the cooler!

In the past four years since we bought our boat I have had two goals:

  • Be able to pack up & get on the water in as little time as possible.
  • Have some yummy food that isn’t just chips!

So, I am compiling this list for everyone else out there that need some food-spiration for their next boat outing! Put these in zipper bags or plastic containers and just store in the cooler until you’re ready to eat!

Some of these you might think are a “DUH!”, but for a while there we focused only on plain sandwiches & potato chips… which was utterly boring. But even if you already take some of these with you, I’m sure there are several more you haven’t tried. Enjoy!

  1. Pre-cut vegetables with dip
  2. Pre-cut fruit
  3. Summer Rolls (a favorite!)
  4. Spinach Dip & chips
  5. Couscous Bowl (another fave!))
  6. Boiled Eggs
  7. Guacamole & chips
  8. Turkey Ranch Roll Up
  9. Italian Hoagie
  10. Antipasto Kebobs
  11. Cucumber Salad
  12. Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad
  13. Tortellini Olive Salad
  14. Turkey Pesto Tortilla Wrap
  15. Chicken Caesar Wraps
  16. BLT Pasta Salad
  17. Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad
  18. Hawaiian Roll Sandwich
  19. Club Sandwich
  20. Veggie Pinwheels
  21. Santa Fe Chicken Salad Wrap
  22. Italian Pinwheels
  23. Salad in a cup
  24. Roast Beef Tortilla Roll Up
  25. Chicken Salad Sandwich
  26. Korean Street Toast (hot food, but stays warms a long time!)
  27. Deviled Eggs

I hope this list provides you with some savory recipes to add to your boat food list or, at the very least, inspires some of your own!
