Boat Food: Finding the perfect balance of delicious, healthy-ish, filling, & easy-to-make foods that are also easily kept in the cooler!
In the past four years since we bought our boat I have had two goals:
- Be able to pack up & get on the water in as little time as possible.
- Have some yummy food that isn’t just chips!
So, I am compiling this list for everyone else out there that need some food-spiration for their next boat outing! Put these in zipper bags or plastic containers and just store in the cooler until you’re ready to eat!
Some of these you might think are a “DUH!”, but for a while there we focused only on plain sandwiches & potato chips… which was utterly boring. But even if you already take some of these with you, I’m sure there are several more you haven’t tried. Enjoy!
- Pre-cut vegetables with dip
- Pre-cut fruit
- Summer Rolls (a favorite!)
- Spinach Dip & chips
- Couscous Bowl (another fave!))
- Boiled Eggs
- Guacamole & chips
- Turkey Ranch Roll Up
- Italian Hoagie
- Antipasto Kebobs
- Cucumber Salad
- Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad
- Tortellini Olive Salad
- Turkey Pesto Tortilla Wrap
- Chicken Caesar Wraps
- BLT Pasta Salad
- Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad
- Hawaiian Roll Sandwich
- Club Sandwich
- Veggie Pinwheels
- Santa Fe Chicken Salad Wrap
- Italian Pinwheels
- Salad in a cup
- Roast Beef Tortilla Roll Up
- Chicken Salad Sandwich
- Korean Street Toast (hot food, but stays warms a long time!)
- Deviled Eggs
I hope this list provides you with some savory recipes to add to your boat food list or, at the very least, inspires some of your own!
